Report of the Civil Justice Advisory Group (Scotland)

The Civil Justice Advisory Group's original report, 'The Civil Justice System in Scotland - a case for review?', was published in November 2005. It recommended that there should be a review of some important aspects of the civil justice system in Scotland. Four of the six areas identified within the report as being in need were included within the remit of the Scottish civil courts review.

Following the publication of Lord Gill's civil courts review report in September 2009, Consumer Focus Scotland reconvened the Civil Justice Advisory Group, under the continued chairmanship of the Right Honourable Lord Coulsfield, to consider the review's recommendations and to make its own recommendations about future reforms.

The Group published its report on 18 January 2011 - the report and further information about the work of the group.
